morning all, or 0200 anyway. the line is down. the cpu 1515 2 pn on the wrapper died, error red and no display, so i pulled the spare 1515 2 pn from stock and put it in. powers up, display works, says STOP. RUN/STOP LED yellow.
downloaded the project from the laptop, tia v17. it gets most of the way and then throws an error at the end, something about load memory, i didn't read it properly at this hour. cpu still STOP, and it won't take RUN from the online tools either. power cycled it 3 times and downloaded hardware and software separately, no difference.
is the spare bad too? we only have the one. any ideas, i'm stuck here.
What does the display say when you scroll to the overview, and is there a memory card in the slot on the front? Also the MAINT LED, on or off. And is that the same V17 project the old CPU was running?
no card. the old cpu has one, it's still in the old cpu in the bin. MAINT is off. display overview says no memory card or similar. same project, yeah.
There's your STOP. A 1500 doesn't run without a SIMATIC memory card, the project lives on the card and the CPU has no load memory of its own. Your download had nowhere to land, which is what the error was telling you.
Take the card out of the dead CPU, it's got the project on it already, put it in the spare and power up. It should come up and go to RUN on its own. If the spare's firmware doesn't match what the V17 project was configured for you'll get a separate message about that, deal with it in the morning.
