Replaced a dead PanelView Plus 6 on the case packer with a new PanelView Plus 7, 10 inch. Loaded the MER we had sat on the server, screens come up, buttons work, but every numeric display shows //// instead of a number and the bar graphs sit at zero. The old terminal ran this same application for years. PLC is a CompactLogix 1769-L33ER, View Studio ME V11 on the engineering laptop.
I power cycled the terminal twice, no change, then deleted the MER off it and loaded it again over USB, same removed link I can ping the PLC from the terminal's network settings page.
If I open the project in View Studio and run Test Application on the laptop the numbers show fine, so the tags are there. Photo of the screen attached. Has anyone had this on a new PVP7, or am I missing something on the terminal side?
We had slashes on one of ours last year and it turned out the terminal firmware was older than the MER. What firmware's on the new PVP7, and what runtime version did you build the MER for? I think the terminal shows it under Terminal Settings, System Information.
Terminal says 11.00 and the MER was built as V11, so that matches. Tags on the PLC are all DINT and REAL, nothing odd about them, same tags the old terminal showed for years. Still ////, and I'm stuck.
Communication Setup: is the shortcut on the Design tab or the Runtime tab?
Design (local) tab has the shortcut CP1 pointing at the L33ER. Runtime (target) tab is empty, no shortcut in it at all. Does that matter? Test Application works, so I took it as fine.
edit: forgot to say, the MER I loaded came off the server share, nobody here has rebuilt it since the spring.
