02:00, palletizer down. day shift swapped the k2 contactor on the safety outputs friday, the 100s c09 was out of stock so stores gave them a 100 c09, same coil same frame they said.
since then the safety controller, 1769 l30erms with 1734 ob8s, shows the edm fault on the crout for that output pair. fp bit on, wont reset. a reset clears it for a second and its straight back when the outputs turn on.
tried resetting a dozen times, power cycled twice, swapped the k1 and k2 feedback wires round in case day shift crossed them and put them back.
photo of both contactors attached, old one on the bench.
can I turn edm off on that crout till the right contactor comes in, its a week out. lol I know the answer's probably no, any suggestions?
One photo, one question. What's on the front of the old 100S in your photo that isn't on the front of the new 100-C? And what wire number lands there.
old 100s has an nc contact built in, terminals 21 22 on the front, wire 522 in and 523 out. new 100 c has nothing there, just coil a1 a2 and the poles. 522 and 523 are hanging on a terminal strip with tape on them, day shift left them.
That's the whole problem, and no, EDM stays on.
The loop is 24V, NC on K1, NC on K2, back to the safety input. Closed only with both contactors dropped out, open within the EDM time once the output is on. That's how the controller proves K2 opened. Your 100-C has no NC, so 522 and 523 never join up. CROUT is right.
You want a mirror contact NC in that loop. The 100S has it built in. A 100-C09D01 has an NC that's a mirror contact, pretty sure, look for the symbol, and a week on it is your safety person's call. A jumper across 522 and 523 says K2 opened when it might be welded shut, the one fault EDM exists to catch.
stores has a 100 c09d01 on the shelf two bins over, nc built in, symbol on the side like you said. thats the one?
That's the one. 522 and 523 on its NC, tape off.
fitted the 100 c09d01 at 04:00, 522 and 523 on the nc terminals, edm reset first go, ran the rest of the night. edm time left where it was. our safety guy looked at it this morning and is ok with it till the 100s comes in, then it goes back to the 100s like the drawing says.
so the plain 100 c had no mirror contact and the feedback loop through k2 never closed. contactor with the nc mirror contact wired back in the loop. no jumper.
still dont know why stores had the d01 two bins over and gave day shift the plain one. thanks ronh55 and pat_k.
Stores needs the mirror contact called out on the bin label, so nobody hands out a plain 100-C again.
