flashed a powerflex 525 on the case packer tonight because the plc kept moaning about the module revision in the io tree, the keying thing. used controlflash off the laptop, it said it finished ok and the drive came back up fine.

now the drive shows F048 and every parameter is back to default. motor data, start source, accel, all gone. it runs from the keypad at default settings but plc control is gone and the speed ref does nothing at all. i reset the fault and it comes back on the next power cycle.

did the flash fail halfway and cook it, or do we have a bad drive now. edit: forgot to say, there's a ccw file from the integrator somewhere on the shared drive, maybe. any pointers before the shift ends?

F048 is Params Defaulted. It's the drive telling you it reset itself to factory after the flash, not a failed flash. What revision did you go from and to? And find that CCW file before you do anything else.

from 5 point something to 7.001, whatever the io tree wanted. found the ccw file, dated 2021, integrator's name on it. not sure it's been opened since.

A major revision flash on the 525 defaults the parameter set, so F048 after 5.x to 7.x is expected. If I remember right the release notes say so, nobody reads them at 2am. Clear the fault first, it won't go on its own.

Then CCW: open the 2021 project, connect to the drive over Ethernet, it'll throw a mismatch dialog, and pick the download from project to drive, not upload, or you'll overwrite the file with defaults. After that walk the motor nameplate group against the sticker on the motor, a 2021 file can predate a motor swap. Check P046 landed at 5 and P047 at 15, both EtherNet removed link The keying in the tree matches now, so don't flash it back.

cleared the fault, downloaded the 2021 file from ccw, drive took it, plc control back, speed ref works. motor data matched the nameplate, same motor since 2021.

so F048 was just the drive telling me it had wiped itself back to factory on the major rev flash, nothing broken and nothing cooked. cleared it, pushed the 2021 params back down and it was done.

one thing, the ccw file didn't have the accel time we run now. someone changed it from the keypad after 2021 and never saved it, so i guessed 8 s from the conveyor next to it. thanks dave, vinnie86.

Upload the drive to CCW now and save it. Tonight.
